The Role of Museums in Building Community: Reflections on the Japanese American National Museum

Irene Hirano is the President of the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles where she served as its Chief Executive Officer for the past twenty years.  She is also Chair of the American Association of Museums, and is a member of the Smithsonian National Board and the National Museum of American History Board.
